Question

Is there a way to add more hdmi ports to a pc?

So I wanna add more hdmi or vga ports to my pc, for some reason the vga slot doesn't work on my computer only the hdmi does. I have 2 monitors and only one works and I'm certain the other monitor works because I tested it on my laptop and ps4. So is there a way to add more ports so I can connect my 2nd monitor? Byou the way I can't afford a new graphics card. I have the gtx 950 it should work but I don't know the problem

Re: add hdmi port

You can try a usb to hdmi converter. But it's quite unsure how that works together with the hdmi on your gtx 950. I suppose it comes with it's own drivers. So maybe you can only use one at a time, or they always display the same, or ...

i didnt build it myself

950s are pretty new.

Check your warranty since it may be cheap to get your card working right.

Dont have warranty

I Sadly didnt get warranty Sad

May still be in luck.

The 950 you buy has a few year warranty. I'd ask the card maker anyway.

I didn't broach setup issues. A lot of folk struggle to enable and connect second ports.

Answer
video cards with HDMI

hmm

will these work on a pc? i thought those are for monitors and tvs

- Collapse -
huh?

how will you put that in a TV or monitor? They are made to be inserted in slots on your PC's motherboard, just make sure it matches the slot you have.

(NT) Isnt that replacing the video card?

(NT) only if you lack another slot for it

Oh yea ^

is there a way i can make my pc have like more hdmi ports without adding or replacing my graphics card? i mean like a port i put into the hdmi port and it adds more. Or is that just impossible

You have 2 HDMI ports.

Just that one is DVI which needs a 2 to 5 dollar adapter. Why do anything else?

Future

I dont need it for anything right now, but im asking for future references. So is there? Also 1 of the hdmi ports dont work. Its super broken im gonna get it checked out

(NT) You didn't reveal that up top.

I know, sorry

Sorry, but is there? or no xD first time i have been on this site

Remember that

We know that such cards usually have a generous warranty time. I'm seeing 2 or more years. But it may exclude mechanical damage to ports. While we can get the DVI to HDMI up and running I think your options for cheap are fading.
