Question

Is there a quick and easy way to erase all my files?

Jan 20, 2015 9:58AM PST

I would like to wipe my computer clean of all the files I have accumulated over the years. It's passed the point of no return when it comes to going through and deleting the nonessentials. So I would like to know of a quick and easy way to wipe my computer. I basically want it how it was when I purchased it. I have a dell computer that has Windows 7.

Your dell machine should have a restore partition....read your manual about how to access it.
or
Your machine came with restore disc or both.
Either method should put the machine back to the like new condition.

Rfm.....read the fine manual.

Open a Search box, set it to find all files over 100 MB in size and run it on the entire drive. You may be surprised by how many large files you discover which you no longer want, that maybe just got lost in folders you forgot about, or left in some former profile cache for some browser. You may also find some old service packs, especially if you had upgraded from XP, all of which were no longer needed after installation. You can usually remove all the NTUinstall files in Windows, they are there to uninstall any updates you got from windows you no longer want, but seriously, if you didn't do that shortly after some update you didn't like, you never will.
