Is there a best format for FAQs?

Aug 3, 2005 4:27PM PDT

What do you think is a better format for FAQs on a web page?

(A) Displaying a list of just the questions first with links to their answers further down the page, for example-
* Question 1 (linked to its answer, below)
* Question 2 (linked to its answer, below)
* Question 3 (linked to its answer, below)

OR

(B) Displaying the questions with their respective answers from the beginning to the end, for example-
* Question 1
Answer to #1 goes here
* Question 2
Answer to #2 goes here
* Question 3
Answer to #3 goes here

I have a list of nine questions and both methods look good to me. I was wondering if anyone had ever done research about which method web site visitors liked best based on clarity and ease of use?

Depends on audience.

If you get the old usenet people together, it's a well written text file. Today's mouse driver pack will want full up links and many pictures.

Determine your audience so you know which method to use.

As to A or B. B.
