Is the XBOX 360 software really this bad?

Mar 10, 2006 3:22AM PST

I have a friend who owns a 360. He was going off on all the crappy stuff about the 360's software and I told him to write them down and I'd post on here to see if some of them might not be things you can change or workaround. Is it really this bad? Here is his list:

----------
xbox360 frustrations
1. When downloading content or demos, you cannot do it in the background. You have to just stare at the downloading screen. What year is this? Microsoft... Microstupid.

2. On 360 you are able to download (once you stare at the downloading screen) Videos and trailers but when you play them the only options are play/pause and stop. Have they forgot about Fast Forward and Rewind? arent they pushing a Media Center??

3. On the original xbox, you used to be able to create a chat area with a bunch of your friends (MORE than one), but now they give you 4 chat channels which allow you a 1 on 1 ONLY. Come on...this is about getting together with your friends and deciding on a game to play. It's annoying to go 1 by 1 and then say, "Ill be right back" Its like call waiting instead of the party line. Regression!

4. Microsoft thinks america is stupid. Case in points! Microsoft allows you to buy stuff but only once you convert your money and buy Points. Except its not 1 penny = 1 point. Its like 400 points for 5 bucks. so when you buy something thats 300 points its not 3 dollars its 3.20 or something like that. Im too annoyed to do the math. Now yes, I understand points are global, but they made them so close to equal exchange to the american dollar.
