I own a Sidekick II.... and love it!

In reply to: but..

I have had my Sidekick II for over a year now and I love it! It has been a reliable and durable performer for me. And one thing that is not mentioned at Cnet in their rankings/ratings for smart phones is that the plan offered by tmobile is the cheapest around for all that you get. I have compared other messaging/internet/email plans offerred by other service providers and Tmobile has the cheapest plan by far for around $20 for unlimited data use! Some other plans by other providers/phones that I have seen are as high as $60 for the data portion! Also, make sure to get the insurance for the phone for the duration of your contract (and try to avoid a two year contract). Although, I should point out that I have dropped my SKII several times on hard concrete without any functional damage. Still get the insurance just in case.

One word of advice though. Apparently, there is an upcoming update to the Sidekick called the SKIII. Surely, you will pay more for this new gadget but it is important to know that it is coming out soon.

The only downside to this phone that I have noticed is that the camera is only a VGA and thus the quality is not all that great. Also, it does not have bluetooth. These issues don't bother me as I love being able to email, check google, and AIM chat. This device does all of these things exceptionally well.

best of luck in your search for a phone,

yea t-mobile does offer the cheapest unlimited data plan around. ive have my sidekick II for 13 months now. i plan to stick with t-mobile for the sidekick III. i have the mister cartoon version, what color sidekick do you have ? for me, the best phone with a keyboard and all those special features is a toss-up between the sidekick series and the verizon lg vx9800

sidekick III

In reply to: sidekickIII

my husband was in the t-mobile store just about an hour ago and they said the sidekick III is less than 2 months away. Whether it's true or not remains to be seen but that was the word we got.

He said it was smaller and had some better features than the SKII. But I love my SKII now, so anything better would be unimagineable!

My Daughter has had her phone less than one month. She left it in the car to attend classes. The phone has not worked since. I was told that it was heat damage. I would be very careful.
