If you're wanting something made by Apple, for jogging with, and no WiFi, I'd go with an iPod Shuffle or an iPod Nano. The Shuffle and Nano both have a clip, making it easy to clip on to clothing. The Nano also has an FM Radio whereas the Shuffle doesn't. But that being said, if you do want to go with an iPod Touch, Apple does sell different armbands for all different iPods models, here. Hope this helps you in your selection choice.
Hi guys!
I'm on the market for a new MP3 player, as my 4Gb Creative ZEN just died.
I've been looking around and I've been carefully considering joining the iPod croud with an iPod Touch. I have a few concerns, however.
Number one is that I used my Zen to jog, equiped with an armband. I'm guessing the Touch's interface isn't great for switching tracks as you run, but looking at the other contenders, I don't see that many great alternatives: buttons are usually flat, or they're haptic feedback buttons, or full-on touch screens like the Touch. The Sansa Clip + is an obvious exception, but I'm looking for something with some more features, so I can make my daily commute and plane travels more enjoyable.
Which brings me to my second concern: I don't have WiFi at home. I have a wired connection, and I was wondering how much would that limit the use of an iPod Touch. I played with one around today, and noticed most of the apps on the home screen required the device to be online. I'm not planning to install that many apps, and those I planned on to would be things like games or apps like ColorTilt or Layers. So those wouldn't depend that much on online functionality, or would they?
I've got some friends suggesting me to buy an iPhone 4, but with the rumored next version in line for a September release, I'm not so sure it would be a wise decision to buy one now, and I don't find it a good idea to go jogging around with it. Not to mention that I'm thinking battery life would kind of suck: I have my phone on all day, and the MP3 player is only on when I'm using it, meaning there's less of a risk that the thing dies on me while on the plane, train, or jogging.
Having said all this, is the iPod Touch a good fit for me?
Thanks in advance! ![]()
