I'm running into folk that want more scans even when there is no finds by the usual.
For those folk I suggest they head to Bleepingcomputer.com and follow their rules.
Most of us use Grif's advice at http://www.cnet.com/forums/discussions/how-to-remove-pup-option-603542/#post-f742c795-5881-433b-a29b-6d758efe5cd3
I clicked on a bad link and was taken to an website which offered a .jar file that I did not touch/open. All my scan are cleans, but..
One file under system32]CatRoot\C:\Windows\System32\CatRoot\{F750E6C3-38EE-11D1-85E5-00C04FC295EE} is SymEvnt.cat and shows as Mofified right at the time I was stupidly clicking on the malicius link. It shows as a 9K Security Catalog, V1, digital signature signed/effective 17 Aril 2019
I cannot find anything to show what this file should look like or even hardly a mention of that name (I know there are SysEvent files under drivers.)
Can someone verify if this is a legit Windows file. Could it be a target for Trojan/Malware, and where can I see what a clean copy looks like?
