W7 is one I'm not familiar with, but SpiralFrog is indeed legal and legitimate, with the songs licensed directly from Universal, EMI, etc. The catch, though, is that you must fill out surveys to renew the licenses monthly and the WMA songs are protected with DRM so you cannot burn them, transfer them to an iPod, etc. Depending on your project it may or may not be acceptable. Also, to download you do have to download/install their custom download manager, which requires Windows XP/Vista and WMP10/11.
Hope this helps,
John
I'm working on a project, I would like to incorporate some songs into this project. I don't have to use music, but it would be a lot better if I could.
The only thing is that I don't listen to the music that I will be downloading, it is current music and stuff that I'm looking for. So, I would like to save the money on buying it if I can, but I would also like for it to be legal.
I've been reading about sites like Spiral Frog and WE7, are these legal? I'm not sure if there are any options, these are the two I've been reading.
Also, do I have to download anything to use them?
Thanks so much!
