Sony was at Photokina this week and released some info on their latest gear.
the Alpha99 - a 24.3MP Full-Frame Digital SLR it looks to be a step up from the Alpha 900.
looks like it should hit the shelves by the end of October.

I been nosing around online and I've noticed there are no real replacements for the A-series dslr cameras on sony's website.
I just purchased a Sony Aplha 55 for a good price. I'm growing more concerned they may be phasing out the A-mount for cameras in favor on the newer E- mount for the NEX line they offer.
I don't want to get stuck wth a relic if you kmow I mean in 5 years.
Is Sony trying to phase out the A-mount? Is Sony discontinuing the Alpha line without any A-mount replacements?
From what I've been reaging it appears Sony is attempting to do just this, but I could be wrong.
