why pentium D 950 is not good, it have same features but more speed, C2D E600, it have 2x2mb L2 cache, C2D have little more FSB i.e 1066mhz and pentium D have 800mhz. but do u knw wat is VIIV, and h/w visualisation Support, and by the Pentium d 945 i am convinced from ur coments and will take pentium D 945, and this processor is a good overclocker, it can be till 4.4ghz with no probs, (only cooling)

pentium-d 945 is a better choice

same cpu as a 950 except no h/w virtulisation support and only about $180 (usd). any mobo with a 945g/p chipset will do just fine and can be found to fit your budget.
