Is Overclocking Dangerous?

heya im going to get a new laptop and i am a gamer.
I hear alot about overclocking but i dont know if it is risky or not...
i will be getting:
P 4-M 770 (2.13ghz)
2048Mb DDR2RAM
nVidia GeForce 6600 256Mb
100Gb Hard Drive 5400Rpm

Can someone tell me...
Is overclocking dangerous for this laptop,
How do i overclock,
and How for should i overclock it?
