Is oppo 83 blu ray player worth the the price .

by marcsundance / May 11, 2011 4:58 AM PDT

My sole purpose in purchasing a Blu Ray player is to upconcovert my dvds. The Oppo blu ray has a heavy price tag. Is it worth it, if my primary use is to watch blu ray discs and upconvert my dvds. What other blu ray player would give me good quality upconverting dvds?

The Oppo is one of the best BR players available, but depending on what you need, it may be overkill. The Oppo plays DVD-Audio, Super Audio CD discs and it plays a multitude of various video file formats other players don't play. If all you want to do is upconvert your DVD collection, any BR player will do that. But, as many here suggest, stick with a good brand. I personally have had excellent luck with Sony. I also have had very good luck with Panasonic except that the Panny players had trouble with some odd-ball video files, like with discs that contain PDF images for menus.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
