Resolved Question

Is one of the partitions on my HDD corrupt.

Feb 6, 2012 4:08AM PST

My portable TB Samsung HDD is partitioned (MAC/PC). I clicked on the PC portion and while opening my stupid computer crashed and i had to force a shutdown. Since then my computer no longer shows the PC part. I tried formatting it but it only worked for the Mac partition giving me back half the memory (about 480G) but still no sign of the other half. Im not bothered about recovering any files (nothing important) just the missing half of the memory. I would realy appreciate any help. Thank you.

But those MAC and PC partitioned drives are often trouble waiting to happen. If you can use NTFS for both Apple and PC the issues subside a little but still can happen on a bad luck day.

There are now Apple tools for recovery in the top post of this forum called "Lost and Found" if you want to try them.
