Here is my story:
I had been a loyal customer of Newegg’s for many, many years. I enjoyed their selection, reviews, competitive pricing, and very quick shipments. But, something has changed at Newegg. I will never purchase from them again, and I tell everyone else I know to do the same.
I ordered a new wireless router with free two-day shipping, which was satisfied by the "Marketplace seller" VMInovations. When I looked at the Lasership tracking information two days later I was surprised to see that it said that the item was delivered the previous day, and less than 24-hours after I had ordered it. Except I never received it.
The shipping address was a commercial building with a specific suite number. The tracking information said "Left at Front Door". It certainly was not left at the front door of my suite, and it was no longer at the "front door" of the main building 24-hours later. Lasership either a) inappropriately dropped the package at the front door of the building (not the suite) and it was stolen by somebody walking by, or b) Lasership never delivered it and simply marked it as delivered.
Newegg seemed helpful at the time in trying to rectify the situation with VMInnovations. Although, VMInnovations IGNORED the first emailed attempt to come to a resolution. When I called Newegg back "48-hours" later, they were finally able to make contact with VMInnovations who said that they would “investigate” with LaserShip. VMInnovations followed up with me later that same day that Lasership "confirmed" that the product was properly delivered and instructed me that I should simply file a claim with my major credit card, which I presumably purchased the item with. Oh, and they offered to sell me another unit at a $10 off discount. No thank you. So, I filed a claim with my major credit card.
Then, mysteriously, the package arrived at my “front door” after being "missing" for eight (8) days, and very interestingly the very next day after I filed a dispute claim with my credit card company. So, the package was delivered seven (7) days after it was supposed to be delivered, and in the meantime I had made another purchase, with another vendor. So, I figured I would “simply” return the item to Newegg since I no longer needed it. I contacted Newegg to help me with this process, and again, the Marketplace seller provided no feedback.
Then, I received an email from Newegg stating, “We apologize for the inconvenience, but your account has been suspended.” I reached out to Newegg for clarification. And, I was informed that any account that disputes a charge (as I was instructed to do by the Marketplace vendor) suspends the account. So, I still have the product in hand, which I wish to return, and now I do not have an active account with Newegg.
I call Newegg again, and they promise me a resolution with the Marketplace seller. Later, I receive an email from the Marketplace vendor (via Newegg) stating that I will be receiving a FedEx prepaid shipping label via email. The FedEx shipping label never comes.
I called Newegg again. This time, I was provided with RMA # documentation (via email) and a promise (in email/writing) that Newegg would refund me up to $15 to return the item to the Marketplace vendor. I was skeptical of the promise of a refund, but I sent the item back and paid for the shipping. At this point, I just wanted to move on from this adventure. The item was return and the Marketplace vendor (VMInnovations) acknowledged the return via email. Meanwhile, I received an email from Newegg that I have been “credited back” $15 for the shipping, although they never showed up in my credit card activity. Multiple emails back to Newegg regarding this have been ignored.
So, here I am, out $15 for returning the item that unreputable Lasership attempted to steal, but eventually delivered after filing a dispute with the my credit card company, which the VMInnovations instructed me to do. Newegg has still suspended by account, and will not respond to my emails concerning their promise to refund me $15 for returning the item. And, I am dealing with the credit card company to avoid the initial charge. Thank you Newegg!
I purchased all the components to build my computer from them. They are fantastic. Fast shipping and good deals for sales. Their customer service is the best from my experience. They even paid return shipping on the stuff I had to return. I would have no reservations about purchasing anything from them.
Yes - legit and trustworthy. I have purchased a few computer products on their website. However, the last time they screwed up my credit card information - they bundled up some software with the laptop I bought. The transaction was accepted by my bank for one item but not for the second. It kept getting denied even after I contacted Newegg in a chat. Someone had entered the wrong credit card information for the software item, so the entire order was blocked. It took me 3 days to resolve this. When I asked the chat person, Lizzie Z., to expedite the order since the delay was their fault, she said she could not do this. I can only imagine what might happen if something more critical occurred, like non-delivery or a biusted computer arrived in the mail.
they have good product but occasionly they will try to scam you for example something thats on sale(but its actually not) or if u buy a graphic card it will come with a free game(do not take this offer) they will give u the game but they will "mistakenly" charge for it everytime and blame it on their system
Just to give a timeline of events that occurred with Newegg. I ordered a refurbished MacBook pro w i5 processor to replace an old MacBook with Intel 2core duo. This was ordered online on the 11th. On the 13th I received an email and 2 calls about incomplete information and a problem with the credit card. I responded to all of them and got confirmation of order after. Strange they did not have a problem charging my account on the 11th when it was actually ordered. On the 15th I received my box via FedEx and was excited to get my new used computer. However, the excitement turned to frustration when I opened the box and found that Newegg sent me the same older model MacBook (was not even a MacBook Pro) that I wanted to replace. After quite a while on the phone, I had to send pictures of the computer and box to them as proof. Then they said they would send me a mailing label to send it back. I did send it back on the 16th and on the 18th I got an email asking when I was going to send it. They provided me with the shipping label and should have been able to track that. I kept checking the tracking on the package and they received it on the 22nd. Odd that they got it here in 2 days, but it took almost a week for them to get it back. I have called every two days to get an update on the status of the return. It is the 28th now and I feel they have held my 450 dollars “hostage” long enough. I would not recommend going to Newegg for anything! I already re ordered my MacBook Pro replacement from Amazon and I am quite happy with it. Just like all the responses here. Customer service representatives are very friendly. But actions speak louder than any words. Extremely bad customer experience. This company would have to change a lot of business practices to get me to ever buy from them again. I wonder how long it will actually take for them to credit my card for the amount?
An update – talked to Newegg again yesterday and they requested another 48 hrs. What a JOKE! This was the 6th call to them. We called the bank and put the amount in dispute on the credit card. Newegg is a scammer organization that sells and sends inferior merchandise and I will never order from them again… PERIOD!
My advice is to stay away from this company. I recently ordered a hard drive from them that I had to send back. I tried to call the customer service department for an authorization and elected a call back or I would have been on hold for a very long time. No problem, I went online and submitted the information for a replacement return authorization. No problem with that, and they were providing a return shipping label. After about an hour later I did get a call back from them, and a girl answered. I told her that I had gone ahead and submitted my return request online and if she could check to make sure it went through OK since I haven’t received my shipping label yet. She put me hold for awhile, not sure why, and later came back and said everything OK, and I should be getting my return shipping label. This was the only conversation, and it was just to verify a return request.
Now this is where it gets strange. Later in the day I check my bank account and notice a charge pending from Newegg. About twice the amount I originally paid for the hard drive. I figured it must be some internal process due to the return. Well, the next day I actually got charged for this. So, I left an online callback notice for first thing in the morning.
I get a call from Newegg and this guy sounds like he was stoned or something. Maybe he just had a bad cold with a lot of sniffles. Anyway, he was helpful and after some checking it appears that an order for two hard drives was made against my credit card. But, he couldn’t tell me where they shipped them to, Newegg policy. So he says well, it happens all the time. How coincidental is this; Rright after I have communication with Newegg, I get my card stolen. Ridiculous! I didn’t even discuss or use my credit card during this whole process. Although, all my credit card information is still in their system. So, then my card gets hacked right after talking with them. Again, Ridiculous. So, they don’t have secure enough processes in place to insure against this. This is even more cause for concern with this company.
After all this I wanted a refund instead of replacement as I will not use this company again. I’m still waiting for a refund that apparently takes a week for them to get the hard drive back, and who knows how long to actually give the refund. A new credit card later and a bunch of irritation, I went to Amazon for a new hard drive. No problems.
They held my payment "hostage" for over a month and a half. They sent the wrong product to me and I sent it back the day after I received it. All representatives were "nice" but that doesn't cut it when you have to pay a credit card bill and they won't give your money back. My suggestion would be to go to Amazon or anywhere else.
I ordered a 6 pack of replacement ink for our printer. Ink was suppose to contain 2 black, 1 photo black and one each of yellow, blue and red. Ordered product near the end of June 2018, recieved very quickly within 5 days. Package contained 2 each of red, yellow and blue, no black or photo. Called Newegg and was told the "Seller " requested that I send the package back, was emailed a postage paid label for return. Product was sent back first week of July, was told in writing that a refund or replacement would be issued promptly.
Mind you this is a $16.99 product it's not going to break me but its the principle of the thing. Seriously thought they should have just sent me the black ink would have been less expensive for them in the long run.
Anyways I have made 3 phone calls and each time get the same type of answer, saying they must give the seller 2 days to get back with me. Well i have never heard from the seller, even confirmed they have my correct email address. On the 2nd phone call Darlene gave me the sellers phone number and replacement order number. Turns out the phone number is not in operation. Was told that product is coming from Chinia, takes 8-15 days, yet amazing on my first order only took 5 days to recieve. on my 3rd call Carlos, told me that the seller has 2 days to get back with me. Told Carlos that i have heard the same thing twice before, that I was calling by credit card company to get a credit. Carlos, told me that I should not do this that the seller needs 2 days, If I did not hear then that they would look into it. Asked how he would know if the seller reached me (since he said I did not need to call them back) he did not have a clear answer to this. He actually disconnected our conversation after i kept pressing this and stating i was calling the credit card co. I did get my credit
Its been a week later and still no contact from the seller or Newegg . Will never deal with Newegg again.
This company ripped me off for a whole grand. I put in my new address and placed an order. They shipped it to the wrong address. I had email proof from them I put the real address and seconds later email order confirmation. Their service kept trying to lie and say random things until I gave them the proof. Then they said send the police report and they will send a replacement. They were actually just trying to get me to file it without naming them as criminally fraudulent. Once I had sent them the report they backtracked and said there was nothing they could do.
