"Is networking with switch is different to that of hub"

Oct 31, 2004 8:17PM PST

hai,

I have four systems which were previously networked through a 8-port hub running Microsoft's Internet Connection Sharing on my server(Win98 os).Recently my hub failed to work.

I replaced the hub with 8-port Switch.now the network was failed.I tested the network with my neighbours Hub the netwok is functioning well and i am able to get internet on my client systems well.

my question is "Is networking with switch different to that of hub".any suggestions on this are most welcome.

further i changed the switch also but in vain

My client and server configuration are as follows

Clients:Intel celeron 2.4Ghz processor with Intel845GVSR MB running win98 Operating System

Server:Intel pentium4 processor 2.4ghz with Intel845GVSR motherboard running win98 OS and Microsoft's ICS

thanks(In advance)
