Answer
import control does need to be done

Right now they are swamped, so I think this is expected. As for the tuna and mayo, if I was them, I'd let airport locals know of it and could pick up for free since it was perishable. Might as well take use of it. The other part though is these people probably don't eat much seafood, ever. Transportation seems to be the main problem, that system has been overwhelmed.

Sounds like Katrina

There was aid that was coming in and being stopped by the Feds because it wasn't FEMA.

How did they stop it during Katrina?
May 2, 2015 6:12AM PDT

Only Federal aid or that placed under their supervision could have been stopped. Anyone else could deliver and distribute as they chose. Most if not all of it was from "in country" so doesn't apply to an import situation like in Nepal.

Nothing like a gov to help folk in need.

My Katrina story is one about where FEMA/Homeland Security barred many from rendering aid. Even cities that had prepared to deliver support and aid were rebuffed and told to stay at home.

In Nepal the story reeks of a money grab by the government.

The Socialist Payoff to the Undeserving. If we give them more, will they also riot more?
Are we now paying them to riot?

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2015/05/04/as-obama-seeks-urban-investments-baltimore-got-18b-from-stimulus/?intcmp=latestnews

Obama administration and Democratically-controlled Congress did make a "massive" investment into Baltimore, appropriating $1,831,768,487 though the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), commonly known as the stimulus.

According to Recovery.gov, one of Baltimore's central ZIP codes, 21201, received the most stimulus funding in the city, a total of $837,955,866. The amount included funding for 276 awards, and the website reports that the spending had created 290 jobs in the fourth quarter in 2013.

Of this amount, $467.1 million went to education; $206.1 million to the environment; $24 million to "family"; $16.1 million to infrastructure; $15.2 million to transportation; $11.9 million to housing; and $3.1 million to job training.

to condemn the Feds for Katrina and FEMA (could it possibly be because Bush was the Pres?), will you also condemn FEMA for what has not been done since/when Superstorm Sandy hit the NE states? From what I understand, as of the last report I saw about six months ago, many, if not most, are STILL waiting or tied up in red tape because their insurance won't pay until FEMA does its part so many homes that were in the middle of being rebuilt have been standing idle/empty or completely uninhabitable, not to mention the businesses that were destroyed and haven't been able to return. Oh wait....that's BO this time......and the Gulf areas hit by the oil spill are still waiting for THEIR FEMA help and/or the billions in fines that have been imposed by the Feds that was supposed to be used to also help recover/rebuild.

I didn't say anything about Bush. I just thought it was ridiculous that people that wanted to help weren't allowed to. I have no idea who was stopping them from the top.

As for Sandy, New Jersey got a lot of money but it doesn't seem to be going out. I haven't heard anything about Long Island or Coney Island.

Katrina also got a lot of money

Diana....AND trailers.....and many people moved out to other states to live until they could decide to come back. ALL on the taxpayer dime.

I just find it pretty hypocritical of you to mention Katrina without at least giving Sandy and the Gulf a mention.....ONE disaster vs TWO and you only single out the one that pertained to a president you didn't like, and nothing about the one you adore. Will you ever be able to find a fault with the way this administration has been run by the guy who ran to both sites for photo ops and then left them in the lurch to figure it out on their own?

How many people in HIS two disasters were relocated and given homes to live in while they rebuilt or left for good? How many businesses are still shuttered or only partially rebuilt even today, years later?

FEMA is a joke, just like the UN.......and always has been.......but at least with Katrina there were accommodations made that had never been done before regarding disaster relief, even if SOME goods were slow in coming....much more than had/has been done by this administration. More was done by the charity of others across the country at that time than by the government which is how it usually works.

You remind me of the Pharasee in the Temple
May 2, 2015 9:17AM PDT

The one that pointed to a tax collector and said that he wasn't as bad as him.

So, if someone does something wrong, it makes it okay as long as you can point your finger at someone else and say that they did it too.

Was he?

Recall please it was a repentant tax collector, not an arrogant one. If he had been an arrogant tax collector, not acknowledging his sin of taking tribute for a foreign power, would he have been as good as the Pharisee? I'd say not. Jesus was pointing to their lack to accept a person back upon repentance, or branding them "once a sinner, always a sinner'.
