Question

Is my TV broken?

Mar 3, 2018 10:30AM PST

Images from the previous channel are visible on the current channel, cable menu screen and Netflix as well. 4 year old Samsung.

I have had issues with the cable company Spectrum (awful!) so I assumed that the cable service was the issue. However, I plugged in an older Samsung TV and had no problems.

This shows up mostly in plasma sets.

You still must be careful about leaving images up at full brightness. Tell more about the set.

55" Samsung LED, 4 years old.
Layers of channel images build up as I change the channels on the cable box.
I tried it connected to a blue ray player with Netflix and had the same problem.
So now thinking is must assuredly be the television.

Seems to have failed early.

I know it's asking a lot but when you post, the full model number matters. It might lead to a member replying "it's this." But without that, age and such it's more likely folk will nod and write it's gone.

It's the TV

I forgot about those features. But I could barely get there in the menu because the overlay of images was so bad. And then it said unavailable.
So I'm gonna say its the TV for sure.
Thanks so much for taking the time to help.

I guess it had around 4,500 hrs on it. I don't know if that is bad or not.

Have you tried it on a lower refresh rate setting?
