Is my laptop overheating??

Jun 28, 2009 7:49AM PDT

Hi all,

I'm a bit worried about my laptop temperature because it said the cores we're in the high 70c's when only running a antivirus scanner. Then they went over 80c during gaming. The laptop is a Advent 5302 & the PCU is intel core 2 duo t5550 1.83ghz. I've had the laptop for about a year now.

Hi & thanks for your quick reply.

I'm gonna open it up and give it a good clean then see how things are after that.

Thanks for the advice.

I would say that your laptop is overheating if it shuts down completely. Otherwise I would consider it normal usage.

i hear you have a problem with this but doesn't turn off completely. well, I do need help because sometimes it seems that the original cooling fan inside the laptop is stopped ; also, mine actually turns off. i need help! has my fan sucked up little particles and got stuck? because i feel my laptop very hot when it turns off. is it true i have overheating anyway?
