Question

Is my HDD in danger ?

Aug 27, 2017 6:46AM PDT

Here are the results of the SMART SCAN :

I'm very worried about the B8 thing.

Clarification Request
The raw value is 0 so I'd try another Smart report.

Also, the Read Error Rate looks high. Is this drive hanging odd problems with booting and random BSODs?

And what is the make, model and date of manufacture? The power on hours is on the high side.

It's still 0 using another SMART tool.

I have some rare lags with windows explorer but that seems unrelated. Fortunately no BSOD nor any lgas on boot.

Not sure whether it's relevant but it's making a slight (most likely a fan) buzzing sound from time to time (unsure if it's the HDD or not)

I'm also wondering why the SMART doesn't see the C (which is a SSD) but only D (which is a HDD).

About the specs :

Manufacturer Seagate
Model ST2000DM001-1CH164

I'm unsure what you mean with make ? and I cannot get the date of manufacture because I cant remove it from the case. My pc is 4 years old if that helps Happy

For now I can't tell if there is an issue.

While Seagates are common failures, the uncorrectable is zero but there are other items I'd get skittish about. That is, it's OK for HDDs to make noises since they are mechanical and no 2 drives sound the same (many reasons.)

The only folk that get really scared are those that have no backups of what they can't lose.

What about SeaTools?
