Question

Is my firefox corrupted or something?

Dec 4, 2011 8:27AM PST

I just noticed today that I was getting these strange windows opened. At first, it was displaying my google searches in the URL bar, like it woulds say "Star-wars-tor-beta-dates-how-to-" etc. etc. And then it was giving me windows with two tabs each, the url bar was filled with random characters each.

Google Chrome.

I have. Google Chrome. This doesn't happen to it, and I don't know why. If there's a way to fix Firefox, I'd love the help. I highly prefer it over Chrome.

You might try with no plugins for a start.

Uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox may help you. Or you could just move to one of several other browsers such as Chrome, Opera or Safari

I've seen this several times with IE browsers. Check to see if there is a proxy server in your browser's connection settings. Then thoroughly scan your computer for viruses.
