but IE is eons safer than it was "some years ago," as Active X has been drastically limited in IE (default settings will show you a toolbar that offers you the ability to deny the active x or to allow it to run on that webpage).
Regardless, Firefox is still the safer bet; on my laptop I still find IE slow. I wouldn't call the newest versions of IE "sorry," but I still only use it to diagnose a problem that I'm having on a website in Firefox.
Some years ago my computer was attacked and brought down - twice - and it ended up in the repair shot. Hard drive data needed to be restored, etc. etc. It was caused by using Internet Explorer.
Since I stopped using IE I haven't had an attack, all is well.
I've been looking for a reliable browser and wondering is IE "Fixed" or is it still the sorry poor browser it always was?
Opinions?
