Hi,

If it is flagged as spyware or adware by Ad-aware SE then it is safe to delete it. As long as your PC runs properly after Ad-aware SE (or any security program) quarantined a file or key.

That registry key that you posted does not include a CLSID. A CLSID is an alpha-numeric characters that will help us identify what it is for. An example of CLSID is {7f241c00-dab6-11d5-aaa8-0001028df1bc}

Hi to you Dave and thank you.

I suppose i will have to study Ad-Aware tutorial, there is no point in having the program if you don't know how to use it but i find it difficult to digest:)

Hi Marianna

I went to the link that you gave me and did a scan, it found 20 pests.
These came up on the scan window.
System Spy-Key logger.
Fake cd.99-cracking tool.
Ezula Toptex-Adaware.
VX2. Transponder-Browser Helper Object.
VX2. Browser Helper Object.
Linkgrabber gg-Adaware.
Bonzi Buddy-Spyware.
Gamesspy.com-Tracking cookie.
Com.Com-Tracking cookie.
About.com Tracking cookie.

These Ten came up in scan but it said there were 20.

Strange because i did an Ad-Aware scan this evening and it was fine, what do you think?

Thank you.

Hi Marianna,

Gosh! I have a lot of work to do here, first let me explain, i am a newbie, well maybe a bit of an intermediate:)I have printed off your instructions so i will study them well.

I updated Ad-Aware to Ad-Aware SE Build 1.5 about two weeks ago and if i can remember correctly it downloaded over the old edition??? But what i did notice (maybe it means nothing) when the new version downloaded is that Ad-Aware name on the program is not clear, blurred, hope you can understand me.

It is 12:27 pm lunch time where i come from, i will be busy untill later on around 6:30, i will have more time to study your instructions.

Many many thanks for your help, i very much appreciate it, will let you know if all goes well:)

Marianna i have just now run a Spybot Search and Destroy scan and everything is fine.
I wonder why pest scan detected 20 pests?
I have all my security programs up to date.

Thanks again.

sounds good to me Happy Maybe I have missed it - what is your Operating System?? If you have XP - also:

Empty your Temporary Internet Files and history in Internet Options. And clean out your
%Userprofile%\Local Settings\Temp
folder. It's a good idea to do that regularly.

You also should clean your Prefetch folder ( C:\Windows\Prefetch) regularly.

Unless you have some of the toolbars, like Yahoo installed, delete any that show up in your adware program search, the tool bars all have adware they install, that's the price you pay for using the tool bar.

My pc seems ok maybe just a little slower this week.

Hi Marianna,

Wow! what a hard days work Happy
Ok, here is my update, uninstalled Ad-Aware 1.05 and reinstalled it, it said definitions were 75 days old
( strange seeing that i updated it yesterday )?

I followed your instructions again and nothing showed up.
I installed VX2 Cleaner, run the program and my system is clean Happy

I run Windows 98 only.

Ad-Aware is running perfectly but its name at the top of the program window is still blurred, hard to make the name out, i hope that is not a problem. My friend has the program and Ad-Aware name is very clear on hers.
What do you think?

I can't thank you enough for all your help, i have learned a lot today. I hope all my other security programs are configured properly:)
