You could buy a dock connector too

If the $99 Apple TV is too expensive (or overkill), grab a ~ $50 dock connector from Apple. There are 30 pin and Lightning versions, each compatible with the specific respective models. YMMV. See here for a cheaper one, which may be worth trying if you are on a budget. I have not had as much luck with the cheaper generics, even 'Apple certified' models, such as this one-

http://www.amazon.com/Apple-I-Pad-Dock-30-Pin-Adapter-White/dp/B0052E4SXY/ref=sr_1_1?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1423669503&sr=1-1&keywords=apple+30+pin+to+HDMI

Just buy it from a seller with a liberal return policy, and you should be good to go.

Thanks, but this is what I'm trying to do:
Feb 11, 2015 6:07AM PST

What I'm trying to do is:
Monitor--HDMI to HDMI--HDMI to USB--USB female to USB female so we can directly use iPad cable to connect iPad.
I have all the hardwares now. But not sure if it possible to do this.

Is that really what you are trying to do?

OR
are you trying to connect the iPad to the Monitor?

Three adapters and four cables to achieve what could be done with one adapter.

Thanks, here is the reason.

The reason why is:

in this way, our product will provide a USB output. So users can use their iPad cable to get connected.

I wish you would reveal all.

This many posts and now this. It's been unclear from the beginning what you were trying to do but NOW you reveal you or your company has a product.

Back to your engineers to fix it?

Answer
Possible but would require a lot of new hardware and code.

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2804518?tstart=0 shares what may work but sounds costly.

It's unclear why USB is in play here. That is some but not all iPad models have a video output. That is much easier to find details about. Keep telling more about what you are trying to do.

Answer
For $99 you can get an AppleTV

With an AppleTV you can use AirPlay
With AirPlay you can display whatever is on your iPad/iPhone on whatever the AppleTV is connected to.

Re: USB to HDMI

The device I read about needs a USB-driver on the PC. So your setup would need a device that comes with an installable iOS driver or app. Did you already search the App Store for such software?
