If you can find drivers for the flash drive and designed for Windows 98, you'd be good to go. You can download the file, almost always an executable, to any computer, transfer it to your computer, and install. The flash drive would then work properly. However, Windows 98 is a problem. Windows ME, 2000, XP, etc all handle it natively, but Windows 98 doesn't. Most companies offer a driver download for those running Windows 98 SE, but those running the original Windows 98 are usually out of luck. You can check the company's website, but I don't you'll get far. Sorry. ![]()
You can, though, connect two computers directly. For information about the ways and steps, click here.
Hope this helps,

Is it possible to use a flash drive on a laptop - Dell Latitude CPi (pentium 2 - 256MB) that is using Win98 ? The laptop has the older version USB port. I tried one flash drive, but I was missing a driver. Took the drive back to the store, where they told me that even if I download drivers it still won't work.
Also, this laptop does not have online access capabilities - is it possible to download the driver into an area of another computer and then copy it onto the laptop??
Someone told me I was better off just linking a cable between the desktop and laptop to exchange data files. ?? How's that done??
Thanks a bunch to all.
