Given the exploits we see today, even extracting files can have Windows build an image/preview and execute code, overflow, etc.
Why not delete this and get a fresh uninfected one?

Dear Users,
I have a question which relates to the specific situation.
I have a setup file probably infected with a virus.
I didn't run it, but extracted the content of it using 7-zip extract command.
Is this a safe action ? (Without executing it).
Im thinking about something like "touching" the file.
