Question

Is it possible for someone to have your phone calls routed t

Apr 20, 2015 4:13PM PDT

My exboyfreind stole all my personal information and I am worried he has my phone calls picked up on another phone. I have had many of my clients tell me someone else answers my phone sometimes and tells them I left town or that I am no longer around. Is it possible for my phone calls to be rerouted without my knowelege? I am the only one that ever answers my phone so when clients tell me another woman sometimes picks up It just doesn't make sense to me. I have heard this from too many clients to think that its just a unexplained fluke. If anyone has an explaination for me I would really appreciate it.
Thanks

Clarification Request
Yes, possibly- but you haven't provided enough specifics

Understand, if you are seeking a technical solution, more specifics are required. Namely, which carrier, phone, prepaid vs postpaid service. Tracking such calling activity would be possible if you can log in at a carrier's site and view the call logs. ATT & Verizon both offer this on their customer portals, btw. Free to access. Call customer support for your carrier for more info on this/obtaining login/password.

There's also a small possibility that your line/number is being incorrectly switched to another person's line. Less common of late vs the older cellular systems, but still possible.

Question: are you in possession of your cellular phone 24/7? I.g. do you ever leave it on your desk at work/in a purse that's unattended while in meetings or visting a restroom/going to lunch? There might be a simple human solution to your dilemma. YMMV.

Yes I am always in possession of my phone. My carrier is verizon and its not a prepaid phone. I have had this number for about 15 years. If it is possible for someone to reroute my calls how do I stop this from happening.

Ask verizon if your line is being forwarded

That's one possibility. If the ex knew your particulars,
He could have easily set this up. Verizon can verify this.

Bob's right though. Find out if the folks answering your line
Know your actual number.

Answer
No.

But it takes some pretty high tech gear to to this. So while the answer is yes, the technical hurdles are so high that let's just go with no.

However if a person is paranoid, nothing will convince them.

I am not paranoid. My clients tell me that someone else answers my phone when they calls. That how I became aware of the situation. I have heard this now from about a dozen or so people. When ask my carrier if its possible they say no. That no one can axcess my account.. So why does my phone ring to another phone?

Test it.

Just another line and call your phone. Be sure to have those that report it tell you your phone number. I've seen corrupted phone number books on folk's phones.
