Question

Is it possible considering the screen's condition?

Mar 19, 2016 11:52AM PDT

Hello to everyone,

I have a Samsung Galaxy S 4.
The phone has a passcode.
I have tried unlocking it remotely but it didn't work.
The phone works and can receive notifications and be switched on and off.
The screen is cracked and the cracks are deep.
It constantly stays black even when the phone is on.
In general the screen is completely non-functional.

I have gathered that with USB OTG cable and a USB of a mouse I can bring up the image of my smartphone onto the PC and control it with the mouse on the PC.

Bearing in mind the S 4's screen condition, using a USB OTG cable and a USB of a mouse, will I be able to bring up the phone's screen on the PC monitor?

Thank you

So far the only way to bring it back is to repair it. If you are trying to save data, those Cellebrite machines can clone it to another phone.

But no. I've never seen anyone pull this off (your last question.)

Well the entire point here is to retrieve the data WITHOUT fixing the screen.

This is way too vague for someone who hasn't used the service before.
What content does the transfer include?
Can they guarantee that everything will be transferred off there like Samsung memos (the notes app), music, messages within applications, photos, apps..literally everything?

Cellebrite

Has many pages on information about the device and what it can transfer. Since most won't buy the machine, you ask more of the store or service counter what they will transfer.

If the old and new phones are the same model, almost all things make it across. If different makes, all bets are off as Android is all over the map as to message apps (one may store such in it''s own way) and apps are best re-fetched from your app store.

The closest Cellebrite Store is in London and I am 3 and a half hours away with a car so does that mean I will have to send in my 2 phones.

In regards to the phones- the phone with the broken screen is Samsung Galaxy S 4 and my new one will be Samsung Galaxy S 7 Edge.
