Is it ok to do this?

I cut the cables of the speakers (the edge ones the ones that go into the receiver and the speakers) and made them shorter. Then I took off the plastic thing covering the cables and made my own tops. Is it safe to put these in the receiver? Or was I not supposed to cut the cable's top? Thanks.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
