Is it legit?

Hi - when I tried to update my SpywareBlaster (a recommended guard) I was transferred to BPS Spyware and Adware Remover (the URL is www.BulletProofSoft.com). Is that a legitimate site, possibly successor to SpywareBlaster, or is it something that took a ride on my attempt to update? Tx - Amos.

NO...it's rogue!

In reply to: Is it legit?

SpywareBlaster is a legitimate program from Javacool Software, and is in no way associated with the website and/or product you ran across. BulletProofSoftware, and the product BPS Spyware and Adware Remover, are both on the Rogue AntiSpyware List for exploiting the name of SpywareBlaster, SpyBot S&D, and other products, reporting false positives, using high-pressure sales tactics, and installing adware. Thus, they should be avoided at all costs.

SpywareBlaster has an update option within the program...run that and it will download the latest definitions and notify you if a newer version of the program is available. I believe if one is found it will give you a link to the download site, but if not you can click here for the product's true webpage.

Hope this helps,

BPS Spyware Adware (BulletProofSoftware.com)

In reply to: NO...it's rogue!

Hello, Just a dumb question, since BPS is a Known Rogue, and has been around a while and easy to find, why can't the site or whoever be shutdown ?..laws ?

Amos... This is not a legitimate website...

In reply to: Is it legit?

as indicated at here.

You're best downloading SpywareBlaster from Javacool's website. I feel most comfortable downloading something directly from the company's website. Why ask for trouble?

Just my opinion..

In reply to: Is it legit?

Hi - Thank you both; you probably prevented some minor or major disaster with your warning. It seems that being attentive to Cnet forums does pay off... Carol, I was rather taken aback when Javacool.com appeared in Chinese, but googled my way into the correct site. So SpywareBlaster which as it turned out had a corrupt database is now back in action. Thanks again - Amos.
