Question

Is it a "Twitter thing"or a Trump thing?

Dec 26, 2016 7:33PM PST

Twitter doesn't have "spell check" OR Trump thing

I gave millions of dollars to DJT Foundation, raised or recieved millions more, ALL of which is given to charity, and media won't report!

"i" before "e" EXCEPT after "c",

If he's going to be POTUS AND do his own tweeting....he should get some book learnin'

And it created troubles at times. Other parts of the world have their ways such as Month Day then Year and others Day Month Year which can through those new to the world.

Part of my work was export import control so my teacher was the world. It was fun and enlightening.

Kipling's characters always went overseas on the "P&O", just as later Yanks flew by TWA. I wondered about it for years until I saw a railroad car with piggybacks from " P&O Nedloyd". Found them on the 'Net, and they sent me a nice reply with the whole story. Turns out to be a rather significant sidebar to British maritime history.

Look at the problem with "Z" and the Brits
Dec 28, 2016 8:48AM PST

They've done away with Z for the most part and switched in an S instead. Let's look at an interesting application of that spelling "principle".

That means NAZI would then become NASI.

Seriously, James, I can't agree.
Dec 28, 2016 5:54PM PST

NAZI is an acronym, best left in its original and therefore authentic form. And because the first job of language is to communicate ideas clearly among humans. (Who would understand NASI today?)
Example: YHWH in an English is a one acceptable TRANSLITERATION of four Hebrew characters found in the "oldest and therefore fairest mss." (Gibbon) Yaweh is a TRANSLATION of Eng. YHVH. LORD, in the Douay at Ruth 2:4 e.g., is a SUBSTITUTION for Yahweh, most emphatically not a TRANSLATION. Proof: Any honest introduction to a LORD Bible will inform us of that. So, if a man can SUBSTITUTE one way, (Douay) another man (NJB) can go back. What useful nontrivial thing can we learn from this? That ordinary folk in Boaz' day used God's proper (in both senses) name, without being stoned (in the Monty Python sense). Therefore the claims that 'Jehovah isn't found in thr Bible' or 'We're forbidden to use God's personal name' are specious. That in turn means they don't belong in a serious discussion. There's more, but I'm interested in your response to this.

Dec 29, 2016 7:36PM PST

is about you.

I Timothy chapter 6

"If anyone teaches a different doctrine and does not agree with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ Jehovah and the teaching that accords with godliness, he is puffed up with conceit and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy craving for controversy and for quarrels about words, which produce envy, dissension, slander, evil suspicions, and constant friction among people"

- Collapse -
you are correct for the beginning, but....
Dec 30, 2016 1:46PM PST

...the use of NAZI has now become the same as a word. In fact, most who use it today couldn't even tell you what the "acronym" even stands for anymore.

'assuming the position' that not only BO did with the world, but his supporters wound up the same way......bent over.

Only liberals are continuing the fear mongering.......it actually looks good when you compare the little he's managed to do so far with the past 8 years of BO's positioning.

BO and the Dems haven't been responsible for 'fear mongering' for the last 8 years, you've either been in a cave that long or you've been in complete denial and have been hearing and seeing the world and the USA through a different administration than the rest of us.

There are plenty of things to worry about
Dec 28, 2016 6:35AM PST

with BO's administration and it's continuing around the world, even at the last minute with him. He cares nothing about the USA's safety and he cares nothing about our allies' safety.....he has a personal agenda and he plans to continue that agenda even after he leaves the WH. He's doing everything he can to make things even more dangerous. I've been saying this for over nine years now since he began his first campaign....unfortunately many Dems are just now waking up to the destruction he's caused and continues to cause around the world and here at home.

Change IS happening, and not just here....the UN and the EU are both falling apart and it's long overdue. There are many areas in both our domestic and foreign policies that will have to change quickly, and thanks to the new administration, and to enough Dems in Congress, I believe most will be achieved much sooner than radical liberals want and are in fear of. There won't be enough of them left to stop it, including hundreds of Federal Court judges, which means sweeping changes across the country, not just at SCOTUS.

This is the most disgraceful outgoing administration in our history and good riddance to the most arrogant, self-serving president I've seen in my lifetime and probably longer than that. His personal ego won't allow him to go away quietly and with three weeks left, I foresee him attempting to do even more damage.....especially since France has another 'stab' coming on January 15, five days before the inauguration.

AND

less keystrokes to spell "bill"...

YOU should try it...James for legal documents ONLY..

You could use jimmy.....

but jimmy has more keystrokes, too bad that doesn't work for you.

Does Jim do anything for you?

How bout Jimbo?...Same number of keystrokes as James...Might make your posts more memorable.......Remember The Rockford Files?

Dec 27, 2016 8:19AM PST

A. Like many other text-oriented programs, Twitter’s apps make use of the spell-checking and auto-correction tools built into the operating system on your mobile device. If you want to make adjustments or turn the auto-correction feature on or off, go to the device’s Settings area.

If you are using the Twitter app on a device running the current Android Lollipop system, open the Settings icon and tap Language & Input. On the Language & Input screen, you can select and adjust the settings for the Spell Checker. Tap Google Keyboard (or whichever keyboard you are using) and choose Text Correction to change your auto-correction and correction-suggestion preferences.

Keep in mind that if you adjust the settings here, those changes affect other apps using the spelling and correction tools on your Android device.
