Is HDMI 1.3 and next gen HD sound decoding worth waiting for

by HUNTERDEN / March 27, 2007 5:46 AM PDT

I am having a problem deciding if I should wait to buy a reicever with HDMI 1.3 and the ability to decode the new HD audio codecs on blue-ray and HD-DVD or if I should just buy a current generation reciever with HDMI switching. Will I really notices a difference or is somebody like me who is not a video or audiophile not be able to tell the difference? Any thoughts on the subject?

Dont stress about 1.3. and a 1.3. amp dont even stress about having a h.d.m.i. switching a/v/ amp Simple first run all your vidio straight to the t.v. WHY? Most amps will not pass thru a h.d.m.i. signal in the first place and h.d.m.i. switching amps cost much more money, Then run optical audio from you d.v.d. player etc straight to the amp NO PROBLEMS LESS MONEY Then set up a sweet cable or hi-def satellite system and a blue ray player and you will ruin screeming out the door with joy and happiness Face it a set up like this will look and sound better than any movie theater in town What do you think 1.3. is going to do sear your eyes with sharpness and make you go blindI really dont under stand when you have a picture that is of 70m.m. film quality rite now why you would want something that is better its not possible. If its extra money you want to blow spend it on speakers where it really makes a difference steweeee
