Is Firefox compatible with Vista Ultimate?

by mjb1980 / December 12, 2007 12:40 PM PST

I recently downloaded Mozilla Firefox on Vista Ultimate. It downloaded fine, but when I tried to open it, nothing happened. I even right-clicked it and hit run as administrator. It just will not open. Is anyone else having this problem? Please help.

Check your processes (if you don't know how to do this, just reboot and try again)

Thanks for the reply. But I've downloaded it, installed it, and uninstalled it and repeated these steps several times, rebooting between downloads and get the same result.

Try another source. Or maybe an older version. If all else fails, try Seamonkey or Opera.

Thanks. I can't seem to find any older versions. Is there a link you can post for me?

thanks for the links. the firefox link is doing the same thing as the newest version. i did, however, download firefox 3 beta, and i was able to use that, but it's a beta version, so i really don't want to use it. am i going to just have to wait until the real firefox 3 comes out?

I really don't know why Firefox isn't working. It works fine on my Vista Ultimate. Try using either one of the other browsers I suggested or try using a different fork of Firefox such as Flock or Netscape or even XeroBank. Basically Firefox isn't the only safe/awesome browser out there. Try something else (I suggest Opera first!). Hope this all helps.

Yeah I downloaded Opera and installed it and it works with no problems. The thing with Opera is that some sites that i go to won't load with it. I guess I'll just keep using IE 7. Thanks for the help though.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
