Question

is Fifa gpu intensive ?

Sep 11, 2013 1:19AM PDT

Dear All ,

My PC configs are :

E8400 Core 2 , 3.0 Ghz , 6mb cache
+
3 GB Ram

I'm thinking of adding a geforce GT 620 or a Radeon HD 5450 or 6450 (Either 1gb or 2gb if required ) Any suggestions regarding a suitable graphic card will also be appreciated.

My question is after adding graphic card will my sytem be able to run games like fifa 13-14 ?

Any help will be appreciated

Any of those cards will run the game.
The question is how well do you want it to run the game.

Of those cards the 620 wins......but you best have a 400w or bigger psu.
If you have some 300/350w unit it might be best to back down to the 6450.

This one requires lesser power http://www.inno3d.com/products/graphic_card/gf600/gt620.html

The gt 620 is a lil expensive here , but i've heard that gt 610 and 5450 are a waste of money. Which is why I am waiting on to buy gt 620 , and the inno cards also suit my psu.

Any idea what games i might be able to run after adding the graphic card looking at my specs ?

With your psu

I'd stick to the hd 6450.....the 2GB model would be nice if you the bucks.

Btw.....that inno card you linked to is JUNK......8GB bandwidth?

As it ran so well of a lesser GPU, I think you're fine.

Hello Kevy9,

First of all, FIFA is a great game, I've played it on my PS3 went it first came out last year and got hooked right away...just not enough time in the day to play all the games out there, right? Wink

Have you looked at the FIFA 14 Minimum specs yet? You can find them here: https://help.ea.com/article/fifa-14-system-requirements

You'll see your CPU meets the minimum requirement so you should be fine on this front. Now, from one gamer to another, the video cards you're considering will work, needless to say the later/newer the card the better the performance; more importantly it depends on the type of experience you're looking for. If you are looking to play the game at high resolutions and high fps rates (frames-per-second), then the Radeon 6450 will be a better card...by the way, what's your budget? Have you considered the Radeon 7000 series?

On the memory front I do suggest investing in more memory, ideally 4GB (personally I have 8GB and I'm able to run most of the latest and greatest PC games out there)

About the PSU, I agree with Bob, make sure to look into a 450w to 550w PSU since today's GPUs need more power to run, plus it's a good long term investment Wink .

Good luck Kevy9!
Sam

And yeah i saw the min specs of fifa 14 which is why i am planning to add a gpu in the first place.
The GT 620 is for around $70 here , so thats the max i can go as far as the budget is concerned.

I just want a smooth fifa playing experiences , so in the end its 6450 v GT 620 , who's the winner ?

I can even push for a GT 630

At 70 bucks why not something that performs better than 630?

Bob i haven't yet bought one.

You are saying GT 630 is half the card compared to HD 6570 ?

Read http://forums.cnet.com/7726-7586_102-5497657.html?tag=posts;msg5497657 where I supply not only the benchmark result but the source to vet my answer.

I supply that so you can get your own numbers to help you understand which card is better for the bucks.

Those power requirements are one thing and I tried my best to help you avoid some old crappy card but it appears I failed.

It appears that I didn't help you. My idea was to get you benchmarks then you could see what you get for the money. Your last reply is void of a benchmark but had something about the memory which is not a good way to determine performance.
