Is "digitally remastered" as good as "Blu Ray" or HD?

Dec 26, 2009 8:13AM PST

When a company takes an older movie and digitally remasters it, will it look as good as a modern movie that was filmed in high definition or one that's on Blu Ray?

It should look better than the original.

I would suspect that it would be better than dvd; otherwise they would have done it.

It will look better than the DVD if it is remastered in high definition. on the other hand most of the modern Blu-ray releases have a better picture quality of the Blu-ray releases of older movies.

I agree with you about the "quality" of the films...

It comes down to how and how well they remaster them. Film by my definition are ALL hi-def., in fact, beyond hi-def. (think about that).
