Is comcast internet worth the 42.95 a month??

Oct 18, 2005 7:27AM PDT

i would really like to get high speed internet but unfortunately the only high speed isp in the area is comcast which charges 42.95 a month. I was wondering if that prise is worth it for the what your getting. Also if any of you have isps in the area ( Outside Philly, Pa) that have a wide area of availibility. Thanks

We have have comcast broadband for about 2 years, pretty reliable, download speeds about 4-6mb. Verizen is bringing their FIOS service (broadbanf type access over fiber). They will charge about $20 a month less for the same speed we get now. For $45/month you can get up to 15mb download speeds. Hopefully that might drive some competition.

Try Googling your actual town

I found 13 broadband providers in Philly. But that is not the same as "outside Philly". I pay about 1/4 of that price for SBC/Yahoo DSL 1.5MB. That meets my needs. Only you can determine what you need and can afford. chuck
