See what they report.

Claria may not be noted by Microsoft... Widely discussed so I will not write more about that one.

Three nasties...
by John.Wilkinson / February 2, 2006 4:50 AM PST

1.) Claria.CommonComponents is a piece of adware that verges on being labled spyware. It can hijack your browser's home page and search pages, tracks your online activities, and reports personal information about you back to the sender for advertising purposes. I would recommend removing that one immediately, as well as any other Claria/Gator/GAIN "products."

2.) Limewire is a peer-to-peer (P2P) file-sharing program that's usually bundled with adware and spyware, such as Claria. Also, over 90% of what's 'shared' on P2P networks such as the one from Limewire is copyrighted and pirated, and thus illegal to download/use in most countries. Given that, I'd recommend uninstalling it immediately as well.

3.) Conducent FlexPak is an adware program that's responsible for delivering popups and pop-unders, and also commonly comes with programs such as Limewire. Thus, it too should be deleted ASAP.

Since you have some nasties on your system, I'd suggest running a scan with a second antispware program, as well as with your antivirus app, just to make sure you're clean.

Hope this helps,
John

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
