Is Bush hurting the anti-terrorism war for votes (again?)

Leaders worry U.S. revelations hurting terror fight; Some in Europe say Bush using fear for votes
(Chronicle login: semods4@yahoo.com; pw = speakeasy)

First there was the invasion of Iraq, which many here and most abroad consider a distraction (and diversion of scarce resources) from the war on terrorism. Now there's a real question as to whether premature revelation of leads is harming intelligence operatives' ability to properly exploit the information before it becomes known to the terrorists. The British are reportedly furious at the revelation of one suspect's name, as they were contacting other terror suspects pretending to be him!
