Is AVG down today?

by zeebell / January 18, 2006 11:14 PM PST

It's been a long time since I had this happen. When I right click on the AVG icon in the navigation area, the AVG update screen pops up, but just sits there with an "open" connection. Nothing happens. I have to cancel out of the box.

I do have the latest update, as I went to grisoft to see if there was a new one. I figured perhaps a new one had come out and grisoft was being bombarded.

Reason I'm check this is because I just changed firewalls -- got the pay version of Kerio and dumped free Sygate. Just want to make sure the hangup isn't as a result of my firewall.

Thanks

Julea

After I made the above post, I tried the routine again, and this time it worked -- the Priority Update box did come up and it downloaded the update.

HOWEVER, did it or didn't it is the question of the day. The numbers that appeared before the update were for the update from 1/18 -- 267.14.20.234 1/18/06.

The numbers that appear after the update I just now got are exactly the same.

Anyone know what's going on?

Thanks

Julea

when you caught it the first time, the server was probably taken offline in order to put the new update on it.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
