Is Apple's product family growing too fast?????

after reading this thread: http://forums.cnet.com/5208-10152_102-0.html?forumID=97&threadID=227893&messageID=2371703

I got thinkin' about how Apple's product line is growing...fast......maybe too fast for the company to sustain...

anyone get that impression?...

here's my thoughts on it:

As someone who follows financial markets, etc...I love Apple's progressiveness and creativity. Still, I do worry that if they don't staff-up, and soon, that they'll fall short on the customer service and product quality that helps to create repeat customers.

With such a fast growing family of products...they'll need to either standardize (internal) components across multiple products or they'll need to staff up...and depending on how fast the products catch on, maybe both.

Apple's iPod was like Cinderella's slipper - but...well, you know how a lot of girls have a hard time getting ready 'cause they just have soo many great outfits...ya get the picture?...

Anyway, I have reasons to be excited and worry...but I'd like to find a way to stay excited. If Apple keeps coming up with great visions of what their products will do for people and, of course, if they keep coming up with great, delightful, ?WOW? products to deliver those experiences ? there will be reasons to be excited for sometime. It really is the user-experience first and then the product to deliver the experience.

I think that if Apple breaks into design/user-experience consulting services ? their appeal will slide unless they remain very, VERY distinctive, delightful, and progressive.

Best,
Shalin
