Is Apple afraid of Competition?

by ckemp007 / September 2, 2012 12:13 PM PDT

It has been an interesting week between the Battle of the cell phones.

And Apple has set it's sites on Samsung.

Seems to me that apple might be afraid of the competition.

So what do you think? is Apple afraid.

I don't think so

I think Apple just defends for its patent. Apple is such a tech gaint that it doesn't have to be afraid of others.

Wouldn't that be "sights"?

And can you tell the forum what you really want to ask.

That is, when I read this I wonder if you have a comment to make about the patent system.

Apple seems to be going after most of the Samsung phones, my question is and a tech war has begun you apple suing Samsung, Google is suing apple over patents, Alcatel is suing Apple over Patents for video Compression, Apple is also being sued By HTC for patent infringement. ,

The question I am just simply asking is Apple afraid of a little competition.

Here is how I view this.

Apple is a good product, how ever they are way over priced for their computers and the I phone. As with other devices the other companies are over priced as well.

I have had both Apple smart phones and Samsung, HTC's and Droids, and for me of all the smart phones I have used the HTC was among the best.

as far as PC's go I prefer apple for Art and graphics, and PC's for Gaming.

Some how it just seems to me that: for example, you have various types of PC,s Acer, HP, Gateway, Sony, all of these products seem to have some of the same capabilities yet I do not see them suing one another over patents used by all PC's.

Then I am not an expert, how ever I do have what is not so common anymore and that's just basic common sense.

I'm going to write no.

In reply to: Apple

They had patents, and they had to pick a company to take up the issue with.

I think the bigger issue is about what may happen to Open Source. You can read that thought at

I'm not an expert but have worked for design firms that were on both sides of patent litigation. It is not about fear of competition but those that don't like patent law may try to avoid the patent discussions.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
