Is anyone having problems with the Dell Inspiron 700m WiFi?

by eecoff / August 14, 2006 1:11 PM PDT

Hi all,

I have a Dell Inspiron 700m which works great. Recently the WiFi intermitently disconnects. It initially happens about two minutes after I have am connected. It reconnects almost immediately, but the WiFi led turns off.

I know that this isn't a big deal, but would like to know if there's some sort of software update, patch, bios upgrade or similar that would prevent this from happening every time I use the wifi (even when at home sitting right next to my router).

Any suggestions I would appreciate.

Thanks,
Guido

I wouldn't ever have though of that Grin

I reviewed my firmare and it's updated to the latest version (I was having some problems with my router some months back USR8054)

I disconnected the router and it seemed to have fixed the problem, but now it happened again... a little naive

When the light went off, the connection speed was at 1 Mbps but in my Desktop it was 100 (wired). I've been checking it and it's been really slow, until now (10min later) that it went up to 24 and 36.

Now I am completely lost here, I will try to look at the tech support site of USR.

Do you think that I should re-install the firmware?

Thanks for your help, if you have any other suggestions, I will appreciate them.

Best,
Guido

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
