The memory is pretty low, the video GPU is very basic. You'll tax the 80GB space so in every dimension this is one small computer.
Did you check the top 100 list at Amazon.com for 300 buck models that are new and have more RAM and disk space.
Here's the link ->

I see machines near 300 that have a lot more RAM and disk space and might be faster at that video editing.
As to iMovie on a Windows PC. No.

I will be buying my first laptop ever. I only have $300 to spend and I am partial to Macs because I like to edit videos using iMovie on my university's computers in the library. I do not know too much about computers, so please forgive my questions if they sounds silly!
Here are the specifics of the computer that I am looking at:
Apple MacBook MA700LL/A - Core 2 Duo 2 GHz - RAM 1 GB - HDD 80 GB - DVD-ROM/CD-RW - GMA 950 - Gigabit Ethernet - WLAN : 802.11b/g, Bluetooth 2.0 EDR - MacOS X 10.4 - 13.3" Widescreen TFT 1280 x 800 ( WXGA ) - camera - white
It's used and in good condition. I would be buying it on Amazon because that is where I have a gift card!
If you don't think that's a good computer, could you tell me of a good used laptop that I can get for $300 or under at amazon? It doesn't have to be a mac, but I would like a mac.
Or, on the other hand, could you tell me of a video editing software that is very similar to iMovie, but for a PC? Or a way to put iMovie on a PC?
Thank you for your help! ![]()
