Is a Got It / Want It list desirable to keep filled?

May 22, 2007 4:16AM PDT

I looked through some profiles and they do seem to keep them up to date and I wondered whether I should be doing the same thing. But what to put in? I'm finding the Got It list in particular unmanageable at the moment.

Does it serve a useful function that people expect, or is it best to keep clean if it's getting to be a bit of a nightmare to manage?

Don't use it and don't

care much to know who has or wants what. AFAIC, the profile has limited use. I might use it to help find an old post that I remember a person as having contributed to or maybe how long they've been around if the name seems fairly new. Maybe I want to see where someone is from. Sometimes a long time poster in other forums strays into SE by mistake and either gets hooked or.....gets the hook. Happy

I think what is nice to include....

.....is where one lives in general. The state, maybe the city, and if not in the US, then the country.

It is helpful to include our system information. When you visit a hlp forum, you can just c&p it into your post, which makes for answering question easier.

The rest is optional. I did do a short bio on myself.
