Question

Is a DELL XPS 9560 3GHZ i3-7100H 15.6 worth it?

May 22, 2019 2:44PM PDT

I saw a DELL XPS 9560 3GHZ i3-7100H 15.6" at a pawn shop for $300 and was wondering if anyone thinks its worth pickin up? The system is nice, just kinda worried about how the i3 would perform. Also is the hard drive and ram upgradable?

At the office

We have older i3 gen 2 (i3-2xxxx) laptops with 4GB RAM and some have HDDs but for speed when we get to them we pop the HDD out for a SSD.

These are used for insurance work which is mostly web and office documents. They do well on YouTube and such as well.

https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/Dell/xps-15-(9560) shows memory and drive upgrades if need be. I'd hold off till you figure out what you have there.

That machine

Comes in different configs.

Even at the lowest config it is not bad for 300 bucks.

You won't know what's in the machine until you can power it up and nose around a little.

Yes you can upgrade ram and storage.

Thank you for the responses, my apoligies for responding late. The system did have 8Gb of ram and 500 Gb hard drive. Since its 15in, would it be ok to take around daily like school and work? I do own a gaming laptop, acer predator but carrying around that thing kinda starting to put some heft to my back.
