Code is not perfect or it requires a reboot if the programmer could not figure any other way to handle a command.
The more you work with others in this industry (code and chips) you see this more and more.
Funny but when I push some supported content from the net to my C series allshare it will reboot the tv.
For example what happens if there is a quantity of meta-data with wait requests that my server parses to the allshare the allshare chokes and just reboots Busy-Box.
This can happen with some rss video or audio streams or even with so called non supported content...even thought the codec is correct.
I see my tv C series has not had a firmware update in a long time ...over a year and a half. So I hope this is not the last firmware update that is going to happen for Series C led tvs...otherwise there will be one more used Samsung tv for sale ...soon.
I suspect that this behaviour is a malloc buffer problem because it causes the busy-box linux kernel in the tv firmware to freeze...so it is most likely a serious bug that has not been even acknowledged or addressed. If there is no update to fix this annoying behaviour it will be a Sony or whatever has better software support the next time around.
