I am not an expert on mp3 players. I have own an Iriver 799. Purchased over the 899 because I wanted silver over red. Tech support at Iriver said the 1GB flash was the same in both and both were the same price at the time I bought. The Iriver music manager would not transfer music to the 799 that was protected. I run windows xp and media player 10 and it would transfer files to the 799. When I would listen to the 799 I could hear a tic like a skip in the playback. Irivier said because I recorded using the 192 bit rate that they believe that was causing the problem. They were aware of it and were working on a firmware fix. I did not want to wait for the fix so I returned it. I then purchased an Iaudio G3- 1GB from Jetaudio. When it finally came I found it to be much easier to navigate. I also use MediaPlayer to load it. After having it for 6 or 7 weeks and never dropping it or abusing it it just quit working. Iaudio has the worst tech support I have ever encountered. For that reason alone I would shy away from them. I know nothing about the MuVo but I think I will check them out. Hope that helps?
Hi,
I'm looking for the best 1GB+ flash mp3 player currently available. Price (as long as its below $400 or so) isn't really an issue.
Criteria: terrific sound, customizable EQ, decent recordable FM receiver, durable, dependable.
Right now I've narrowed it down to these: iRiver IFP899, Creative Labs MuVo Micro200 vs. iAudio's entry.
Which do you think is best? Why? Or maybe there are even better models out there I'm not aware of? Thank you!
