Iriver H340 crash

My iRiver keeps getting stuck when I am trying to play music. The screen freezes and the only thing I can do is wait for the battery to run out (some 12 hours later) to break the cycle. It only happens occasionally but I haven't linked it to any particular albums etc. yet. Any ideas what could be wrong? Does the Iriver have a soft reset.
