I'd be surprised to see a firmware update allowing this feature. iRiver is a business, after all, and why sell a 20GB PVP for $299 when they can get $399 or more for such a unit? Not that I wouldn't love to watch videos on my 320.
The USB feature cut seems to have been the direct camera transfer. Rumors of a firmware fix are in existance, whether they're truthful is unknown to me.
I was in almost exactly the same situation, although I was also considering a 20GB iPod. I really like the Zen Micro myself, but the extra 15 gigs of space was too much to pass up for only a bit more. The iRiver has more space, more features, and a really nice screen. The Zen has a very straightforward, streamlined, interface, is small, and has good battery life. It really depends on whether you want to sacrifice size for space.
hi,
im considering buying one of these and have been reading the reviews on here, which appear to be fairly good. i have a few questions though,
1) in the near future do you think there will be a firmware update allowing you to watch dvd's transfered from Pc to player?
2) is it beneficial to get the international model as ive heard there have been USB benefits cut on the US model?
3) in relation to the USB problem, can i still download my photos directly from my digi camera with a US model?
4) are there any reasons NOT to get a iriver h320 and look at an alternative model, as i am really stuck between the zen micro and h320 at the moment.
5) is there anything the zen micro does a lot better than the h320 and which would be the better value player?
many thanks
