iRiver 799 player (Thinking of buying)

Jun 14, 2005 5:21AM PDT

At last, I have read over 200 reviews on the iRiver 799 model players, and I think this might be the player I should consider.

I have a couple of questions that I could not clear up online though; I found conflicting statements.

Can the iRiver 799 player be used as a removable storage drive on your hard-drive, so you can drag and drop files to it? Or do you need to upgrade firmware on the iRiver website, or do you have to use special software?

I have heard that once songs are put on the player, they cannot be taken off the player -- is this true?

Finally, what are the buttons like on the player? How many buttons are there, what does each do, and how easy are the menues to use?

Thanks,
Jim.

you can definitely remove the songs once they're on the player.
