Please tell exactly where it goes wrong and what happens. With the information given a plausible cause is that the battery is empty so your laptop won't boot. But it might be that there's another symptom?

still indicates corruption first make sure you delete your browser cache and temp files then re-boot then DISABLE any download accelerator you may be using as they are often the cause of corrupted downloads. (The cache should be emptied to prevent the browser from detting the already corrupted cached file)

Thanks to those who replied. The problem was a corrupt file and all is well. Should have thought about that first up.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
